Musings

Yesterday I went for my physical. I was hoping to get some advice on losing weight, and also to have some bloodtests done to determine why I've had such difficulty with milk supply when nursing. The appointment went great. I have an appointment to see a nutritionist and I got all the bloodtests I wanted. I think it helped seeing someone who admitted she didn't know much about reproductive issues, nursing in particular, because she readily agreed to whatever I asked for. I'll go back in two weeks to get the results, and if I need to go on Metformin or something, we'll do it then.

The nurse practitioner suggested that I keep a food journal, which I have quite a lot of experience with, so that shouldn't be a problem. I've been toying with blogging about this weight loss journey for a while, so here we are.

My current weight is 270 lbs. I'm 5'2". My goal is to be at 200 lbs by July 1st. It's a stretch, and I know I'm going to have to work really hard, but I think I can do it. There's a possibility that we'll want to try to get pregnant around then, and I think that losing as much weight as possible by then could only help in regards to my supply when the baby is born.

Hi Rachel, I'm Kathy and I would like to join you on your journey. I, too, have been struggling with weight loss. I found your site because I'm counting points (again!)and used your reference. In any case, you can find my struggle at http://iwathealthandfitness.blogspot.com/. If I can help, just say so!

Hi Rachel, Good Luck with your journey, I too am counting points, I am determined to lose weight as I'm fed-up of how it's making me feeling. I'm not a dieter but point counting is my way of controlling- when I overeat I feel out of control and more mad with myself! Weight loss is a struggle with food all around us but when you see other people's struggle too it doesn't feel so bad. All the Best x

Hi Rachel,
My name is Debbie and I too struggle with my weight. Just this week I have been trying to watch my points and quite by accident I stumbled accross your site. Your food listing seems to be helpful. I am going on a cruise on May 14th and would like to lose about 30 lbs. Today I decided was the day to start exercising - wish me luck.
I have also never blogged before, so you have really inspired me.

I will check back and maybe we, and others, can help each other.
Good luck today!

Hi Rachel, I found your site looking for WW points to start my own journey. After reading the other posts maybe we can start our own "Diet Tribe" because we seem to be looking for the same thing. I'm 5'5" and 185 and am looking to lose at least 30 pounds. I know its not that much but it seems to be a huge mountain for me to climb alone.

Just a thought and good luck!

Hi Rachel, I too found your site as I was searching for assistance with WW points. I am on my 2nd day of WW through my work meetings and e-tools. It is all new too me, I have never counted points. I am doing pretty good. I am 5'2 and 216 and I am excited about the journey. As the other posted said, you are an inspiration. I will follow your journey and am wishing you much luck. I like Loris idea about starting a "diet tribe".

Hey! I want to do this too. My name is Heidi. I'm from Spokane Washington. My goal this year is to have another baby, but I have to loose weight. My husband and I are just starting weight watchers on Monday.

I have a good friend that is an instructor. She's lost 100lbs and her husband has lost 120. She has really good tips. One of them is to eat all of your points. If she tries to skimp, the weight won't come off.

Good luck! My blog is decourseyproject.blogspot.com :)

Wow, it's great to hear from everyone! I was shocked to see so many comments. Having support and being accountable, even if it's to friends online, can really help keep you on track. I hope we can all give each other the support we need.

Hi Rachel,

Just found your site and would also like to be involved. I started counting points one week ago today. I am 5'4 and 206.

I did weight watchers years ago and lost 10 pounds the first week and 20 in the first 6 weeks.

Thinking age has got the better of me this time. LOL

Only 3 pounds the first week this time.

Any suggestions are welcome!

Kathy

Hi Rachael,

My name is Sandy.

I too am starting on weight watchers AGAIN! I started last year and lost 12 pounds and somehow strayed away from it. I am anxious and intend on incorporating exercise into my diet. I am 5'3 and weigh a wopping 193 pounds. I am soooooo ready to take the weight off. Maybe with your help, I can achieve my goal this time. I look forward to reading your blog daily for inspirational purposes. Now you better set a good example for us followers, we are counting on you! Just kidding. Maybe together, we can achieve our goals. Good luck to you and we will talk again soon.
